Bark in the park
On May 3, 2014, the Anti-Cruelty Society brings together the city’s biggest pet lovers to Montrose Harbor. It's a 5k walk, where people can bring their dogs to walk with them. It’s one of the most anticipated events they host each year. And there’s one main component that is key to Bark in the Park’s success: volunteers! To help them make this the best Bark yet, they are looking to recruit almost 200 volunteers to assist with anything and everything you can imagine. Whether you’re a current volunteer, a Bark alumn, first time helper, or have friends who are looking for ways to take part, they need you!
Teen HelpThe Anti-Cruelty Society offers service-learning opportunities for teens who are looking to complete community service hours for school. The program includes activities that individual students or classrooms can perform to help us fulfill our mission of helping pets and educating people.
Foster homesThe Anti-Cruelty Society's dedicated group of foster volunteers provide temporary housing for animals who are not yet ready for adoption room placement. The individual love and care of a foster parent gives each animal an opportunity to flourish in a home, rather than in the shelter environment. All you need to do is fill out a few forms, and you will be watching some pets in no time.
